In fact invite all your friends to this conference. We really want to see a great harvest of souls come to the Lord. Evangelist Teresia Wairimu and Pastor Reinhard Bonnke both have preached to millions throughout the world, and has experienced millions coming to know Jesus. We know God will use this conference to bring in the harvest of souls. You my friend can be apart of bringing souls to Jesus by inviting friends and family to hear the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The award was given by the Martin Luther King Jr Africa Foundation for her humanitarian efforts during the post-election violence as well as her vocal campaign among church leaders. Others who were feted included former Vice President Mr Moody Awori who received the Martin Luther King Appreciation Award, K24′s Jeff Koinange ( the Martin Luther King – Gandhi non Violence Award) and Dr Patrick Lumumba ( the 2008 Non Violence Award). NTV’s Current Affairs Editor Julie Gichuru received the 2008 Martin Luther King Salute to Greatness Award, the second highest award offered by the foundation, for her efforts in encouraging Kenyans to embrace change through non-violent means using her insightful stories. And while accepting her award, Mrs Gichuru said she could not watch the country fall apart and do nothing about it. “It appeared as if we lost faith in God at the time and retreated more to our tribal and political affiliations. That is where went wrong and it’s a high time we took responsibility for our actions,” she said. NTV on the other hand was feted for being one of the most consistent channels in the country to devote most of its airtime to encouraging Kenyans to shun violence. It received the Active Non Violence Award together with Kenya’s first 24-hour news television station – K24. The event that was graced by several members of the diplomatic coup as well as government officials and many prominent Kenyans.

Meanwhile, preparation are in high gear for the Teresia Wairimu Evangelistic Ministry’s (TWEM) Prophetic Summit happening on the 22nd – 25th May 2008 in Dallas, Texas. Confirmed to attend the huge summit are 52 Kenyans who will be travelling from Nairobi, about 100 people from Denmark, 24 from the UK and many more from different states in the U.S. There will be a special dinner on Thursday 22nd May 2008 to honour Ev. Wairimu for the Martin Luther King, Jr Award. Click here for more details.

Registration fee for the prophetic summit is now $50. This will be held at the Dallas Marriot Hotel (see details here). Whereas the events at the Marriot Hotel will require one to have registered, the organizers tell us that ALL evening sessions at the St. James Church will be FREE events open to the public.

The party of 52 from Kenya include radio presenter Tina Nzuki who will grace the Youth Concert to be held on Saturday 24th May 2008 at the St James Church in Dallas, TX together with Zaidi ya Mziki, Stephen Pailthorpe from London, and music by DJ Fresh. The event will be free to the public. Click here for details and poster. We also know that there will be numerous Kenyan events happening that weekend in Texas ranging from Miss Kenya, USA pageant (with Nonini, DJ Stylez, DJ Adrian, TOD etc) to the African Festival (with Nameless, Amani, Ray-C, Glen Washington etc). Please tell your friends who might be attending these events to drop by the Youth Concert at St James Church on Saturday.

Prayer may be done privately and individually, or it may be done corporately in the presence of fellow believers. Prayer can be incorporated into a daily “thought life,” in which one is in constant communication with God. Some people pray throughout all that is happening during the day and seek guidance as the day progresses. This is actually regarded as a requirement in several Christian denominations,[17] although enforcement is not possible nor desirable. There can be many different answers to prayer, just as there are many ways to interpret an answer to a question, if there in fact comes an answer[17].

Prayer:

This is a ministry birthed out of prayer. We emphasis greatly on the need for God’s people to connect to His will through prayer. In different cities throughout U.S. we have a prayer network.

There was a contingent of close to 60 people that travelled all the way from Nairobi, Kenya including the ministry’s top brass. There were also dozens of people from Denmark and the UK, as well as hundreds of others from different states across the U.S. The main speakers for the 4-day conference that began on 22nd May 2008 included Evangelist Teresia Wairimu, Ghanaian-born Bishop Owusu A Bernard from Denmark, Bishop Walter Smith from the U.S and Pastor Dennis and Jackie Bambino. Pastor Allan and Kathy Kiuna of JCC, Nairobi were also in attendance. Musical guests for the main conference included Carol Mbithi, Lydia Njeri, Yvonne Makilya and Lillian Odera whereas Zaidi ya Mziki perfomed at the Youth Concert.

The conference started on Thursday as participants registered for the conference all day. Later in the evening, there was a formal dinner in honor of Evangelist Wairimu who had earlier received the Martin Luther King Jr. Peace Award. The award was given by the Martin Luther King Jr Africa Foundation for her humanitarian efforts during the post-election violence as well as her vocal campaign among church leaders. Read more about the award. Radio personality Tina Nzuki was the MC of the night and wasted no time in cracking up the guests with her humorous anecdotes as she led the program for the night. (Want to know more about Tina? Check out an interview we had with her early last year at Hot96).

Yvonne Makilya and Carol Mbithi entertained the guests as DJ Fresh played a mix of music during the African-theme evening. Producer FJ and his band as well as the praise and worship team ensured the guests got some spiritual nourishment too. There was also an all-you-can-eat buffet and the event ended a few minutes to 1am as guests got a rare chance to chat and get autographs / take pictures with Evangelist Wairimu.

Friday and Saturday had basically a similar structure with conference teachings by the main speakers. There were morning sessions from 8-10am, then a mid-morning session from 10:30am – 12:30pm and an afternoon session from 2-4pm. The speakers, who were in rotation during these sessions engaged guests in some powerful teachings. Where as these sessions were held at the Dallas – Addison Marriott Hotel, the evening sessions were held at the ultra-modern St John Baptist Church.

There was a special Youth Concert on Saturday night at the St John Baptist’s Gymnasium. The event kicked off at 7pm with DJ Mixes from DJ Fresh and Badilika DJ’s frontman DJ Jey, who had travelled with Zaidi ya Mziki from Kenya. ZYM’s Lena was the MC for the night where as Radio presenter Tina Nzuki shared the word. There were performances from the Kansas Dance Team and the night’s special guests, Zaidi ya Mziki, who started their second U.S summer tour that evening.

On Sunday morning, most guests went to T.D Jakes’ Potter’s House Church for the morning service as the rest held an impromtu service at the hotel. In the afternoon, guests were free to make their own plans. However, at 7pm, the finale of the conference was held at St John’s Baptist. The Evangelist and Bishops prayed for the sick and shared the word with powerful manifestations.

All-in-all, we would say that we were very impressed with the organization of this huge conference. All activities and sessions started right on time and everything seemed to run according to plan. Kudos to the TWEM team and hope you (reading this) will save the date for the next conference.
